Every holiday season I always stock up on extra small gifts for those impromptu occasions when we are invited somewhere and I need a hostess gift, or just a gift for someone who slipped through my memory.  I try to remember all the people I want to celebrate but there’s always one or two that cause me to facepalm my forehead.  I try not to just have boxes and boxes of chocolates, because no doubt I will find my stash, eat them and be left without my fall back gifts. Let’s not talk about self control right now 😉

Anyhoo, I try to find small gifts that would appeal to a wide age range, or a family even. This is where DVDs come in.  This year I actually bought several copies of the same movie, finding it SO amazingly good and appropriate for the whole family, even the jaded teens.  My pick? Alice Through The Looking Glass, of course 😉

This movie was our family’s favorite of the entire year, having an amazing cast, outrageous costumes and stunning special effects.  The storyline was familiar,  based on Alice in Wonderland, but with a thrilling twist that kept us on the edge of our seats.  It was funny, exciting, touching and energetic, and appealed to all five of us from my seven year old up to me and hubby. It’s a movie the kids pull out over and over, always seeing something new in the set design, costumes and characters.

So if this year you need some back up gifts, or you have someone on your list that you just have no idea what to get them, then I recommend picking up a few copies of Alice Through the Looking Glass. It won’t disappoint and you will be a star for remembering EVERYONE, even if they weren’t on your list 😉
