I made muffins tonight. Not a big deal really, in a normal household. A pretty average activity in fact.
But in my house, this was something new.
Let me say it again.
I. Made. Muffins.
TONIGHT.
Like in the evening. At nighttime. They were cooking as I was putting kids to bed.
And why you ask? Why is this so very strange?
Because normally the muffins would have been made in the late morning, or even early afternoon. The kids would have come home from school to fresh muffins, with the kitchen clean and tidy and dinner prepped.
Yup. I was awesome.
Note the WAS.
I WAS awesome because for about 6 years there has been someone at home, mostly full-time in our house. Oh, and that someone was ME.
Home, baking, cleaning, folding laundry, doing some light part-time entrepreneurial work. Dabbling. Exploring. Exercising.
And baking muffins.
During the day.
And now. Not so much. Now we are D.I.3.Ks
Double Income Three Kids.
Without even trying, both the hubs and I have found ourselves swimming in work opportunities.
Awesome eh.
And it is. It is awesome. But it does take some time to adapt.
We now have to grocery shop in the evenings. And do laundry then, and clean, and bake, and cook and all the things that one of us used to spend the better part of the day doing.
And it is a strange place to be all of a sudden.
But . . . it IS the right place for now!
Oh.. have to run- my muffins are done!
