One of the best parts of anticipating our journey ahead is building our dream.
Since the kids are so on board with what we are doing, we are keeping the details loose and letting the opportunities come to us without expectations.
Slowly, the vision of our new life is coming together… slowly, naturally and without worry!
To see peoples face when we tell them our plan, and have them ask, “where are you going” and then to reply “we don’t know”
We don’t know what we will do. We have no jobs, no house, and no detailed plan.
Terrifying? Liberating? A bit of both (depending on the day!)
We have ideas… but no commitments.
We are competent, clever, resourceful people. We trust each other. We know this will work. How?
A bit of faith I guess. Not the “praise be” kind of faith. Just that silent confidence in ourselves and each other that allows us to make firm decisions when we need to. The instinctive calm we have when we think of where we want to be, and what we want to be doing. The lack of fearful worry about what we are doing.
Knowing that the regret of not following our dreams will be worse than any struggle that we may have in chasing them.
With our for sale sign almost up, we are starting to make a to-do list for what we want our days to look like. Everyone is contributing to it, and it is becoming our blueprint for our new life. We want to ride bikes and have fresh eggs. We want to swim with dolphins and have a pantry.
Simple things really, but hugely defining in regards to what we want, and the most detail we have right now in terms of a “plan”
I know we want fresh air, good weather, visits from friends, wifi and most importantly, time. We want to be in a place that doesn’t require us to work full-time… maybe just ¾ time?
Our list is our non-negotiable requirements. The things that will fill our souls and help us build our extraordinary life. It is what will be the soul of the life we are building and is allowing us to focus on what we want… instead of what we don’t want. It is allowing us to look beyond the limitations to the opportunities.
It is liberating! Not terrifying!
