I KNOW I have already talked a lot about my experience in Chicago at the BIGGEST blogging conference, but I just can’t stop. I was pretty excited about the The Big Toy Book Sweet Suite event before I even got on the plane to go, and when I finally walked in the room… well; mind was BLOWN!
Fabulous toy brands, amazing displays and this, mailed to my door just this week. On a sunny wednesday. Just out of the blue.
Now. This was a BIG box. Not a wee little box. This is the kind of box that would fit say, 36 loaves of bread? A dog (well, a medium sized dog. Not a great dane) My 3.5yr old can fit in this box.
A big box.
Full of toys.
Now, I am 39. (yes, I DID just say that) and even at 30 I was EXCITED to open a big box of toys. Checking them out, anticipating the kids reactions, blessedly smiling down at our reduced Christmas budget… it rocked.
And while I am not going to spill ALL the beans about what is in this box (a: because my 9yr old reads my blog, and b: because I have a whole lot more toy sharing to do before the holidays) I will tell you about my FAVOURITE treats in there!
TAGAMOTO – honestly, I hardly know what this is. All I do know is that my husband, who has been an amazing father to 2 beautiful girls and is now JUST getting into the COOL boy toys with our son actually SQUEALED when he saw this. I am thinking it is probably awesome, and will (fingers crossed) keep the boys upstairs and happily playing for a long, long time!
Pinky Cooper– Honestly.. these dolls are kind of my “scary doll dream” come to life, but I know for certain my 7yr old will melt when she see’s it. Half barbie, half puppy… come on? What little girl wouldn’t love this. I am going to go and predict that these little babies will be the hawt toy of the year.. so if you see them on the shelves now, grab yourselves a few.. remember the Cabbage Patch Kid panic of the 80’s…
And speaking of Cabbage Patch kids.. they are back as well! No, I didn’t get one in my box (and that’s OK, my doll Diane Elizabeth is still going strong … now, is it weird that I named my daughter Elizabeth?) but I did stand and sniff the dolls at the booth at the live event. In fact, I may have overstayed my welcome with my sniffing…
Laser Pegs were one of my event highlights. Imagine low voltage lego… every block you connect to the next carries a low voltage current that causes it to light up. Yah… awesome! I loved this product, and the display.. and the guys (their PR is quirky, fun and totally awesome) Again.. think of it… Light brite meets LEGO.. it can’t get better than this!
The event was amazing, and I will do everything in my power to get back to it next year! I will keep sharing the amazing products that these brands are coming out with and want to give HUGE thanks to the organizers for the time and effort that went in to planning this event, and then SHIPPING us our swag (i mean, come on…how awesome is THAT?)
So kudos to Joey Fortman of www.RealMomMedia.com and Charlene DeLoach of www.CharleneChronicles.com. You ladies pulled of a stellar event and truly gave Bloggers and Brands the chance to connect and learn more about each other!
And everyone else.. prepare for a season of totally awesome toy posts!
