I am all about simple directions. I choose the best way to get from point A to point B. I create shortcuts that make sense when I am working digitally. I have maps in my brain for my daily items and do them in a systematic routine and don’t get off track. I also have one way to do my makeup. One way.
Every “in public” day it is the same. The same base and powder. The same blush and gloss. The exact same eyes. Every time. And you know what? It works for me.
I wandered in for a “makeup training” session one day, many moons ago and they taught me “my method”. They showed me my colors that worked, and how to layer and blend. It was simple. And it worked.
I am not the winged eyeliner lady, and I can’t work the varying lip shades. My look is my look, and I love it. But, until I learned “my look” I had nothing.
In my little “session” I was shown the colors that work, and the best way to work and highlight what I’ve got (and what I don’t have as well) They showed me good products, and the right ones to purchase to suite my coloring and traits.
I may not have bulging cosmetic cases like my girlfriends, but I know what products I love and exactly how to apply them! I learned quality over quantity is better in the end, but having the understanding of what to buy is even more important!
