Ariel has always been our favourite, especially the hubby.  With two little girls in the house and Disney movies on the go and princess twirling in our imagination, the conversation had to come up eventually.

DD: “Dad. Which princess is your favourite?”

Dad: “Ariel, of course. She has spark!”

For years, the girls made sure Dad got the ariel spoon, and on our trip to Disneyland many years ago, the girls were adamant that Dad meet Ariel at the Princess lunch.

Maybe they had some notion that Ariel would love him as much as he (supposedly) loved her? Possible dreams of “my mom is a princess” (or step-mom by that point, i guess)

Even last year Dad’s choice of name for the new sailboat was. . . Ariel (said with that clever lobster accent)

Truth be told, we do like her the best (although Meridia is making her way into our hearts as well)

So dad the girls were thrilled that The Little Mermaid Diamond addition (with special features)  was re-released this fall, including the prequel and sequel as well. I have a feeling that dad the girls may see a little mermaid under the tree this year!

And even though our little guy was a little scared of “Ursula”, we all still loved watching the Little Mermaid again together. I foresee a christmas day, curled up in front of the fire and enjoying the great tunes in these favourite movies.
