Our little man has started singing carols already. Jingle bells on the way home from school, and Santa Clause is coming to town when we are letting the critters out in the morning.
I don’t know where he has picked up the words . . . goodness knows he didn’t really “get” the whole holiday thing last year. But he knows them, none the less.
He sings, and is counting down the moments until Christmas. He is asking about Santa and trying to wrap his little head around our holiday experience.
And then these came to the door, and made it all the worse (better?) Two amazing (and holiday filled) Disney Holiday movies.
30th Anniversary Special Edition of Mickey’s Christmas Carol.
And Winnie the Pooh, a very merry Pooh year.
We now have the sounds of carols, and the feeling of Christmas “starting” to appear in the house. And you know what? It is kinda awesome.
It is exciting to think that this year the little fellow will be all into the spirit of the holiday. He will sing the carols with us and we will be able to feel his excitement and anticipation as the tree goes up and the presents are wrapped.
And be able to experience a first “aware” holiday with your kids holds it own special magic.
So I say, bring on the holiday flicks! I am ready!
