Today I am taking time with my family. We will head outdoors and play together, and laugh and love our life. We will gaze around at our beautiful surroundings and appreciate our life.
We will sweat, and we will work. We will demonstrate hard work to our children.
We will have them help.
We will eat lunch together over a campfire, stir some soup in a pot and cook hot dogs on a stick. We may even have marshmallows.
We will come home after 8 hours full of fresh air, and bone tired.
Both hubby and I will share stories of our Grandparents lives and tell the kids of our history.
And this is no different that many days we have already experienced or what we will experience next weekend.
Every day I appreciate my life, and my freedom, and the world I live in. Every day I talk to my children about our life, and our family.
We spend a lot of time as a culture appreciating things one a certain day, or in a specific way. Be it church on sundays, or our Veterans for one hour, one day a week.
Just as we all feel the need to hug our children tighter after a disaster befalls someone else’s child.
Make today about celebrating our life and history every day. Make today the start of hugging our children “just because” and appreciating our freedom and our world because it is there for us each day when we wake up.
Celebrate spirituality every moment you walk outside, or take a breath, or eat delicious food.
Be grateful, because you can.
And be grateful in every way you are able, and every chance you get.
That is what I will be doing today. And tomorrow, and the next day, and next.
