We have said we are lucky before, but there is another element (I feel) to the extent of our luck.
See, we know the people who bought our house, well, I know the mommy! It has been awesome from the beginning, to have a chance to chat about the changeover, give tips on the garden (weed, trim and if you don’t like it, yank it out!) and to have some control over the pass over.
One of the best parts of this opportunity came s our truck sat loaded on the driveway, ready to drive away for the last time.
The hubby came by.. we hadn’t met him yet, so weren’t quite sure who was pulling into our driveway moments before we did the final goodbye.
He was driving back from the lake with the kids and thought he would swing by.
Cool!!
It felt perfect, like a complete passing of the torch to another, and to see his excitement about the home was a release for us to let it go to him. To know that this amazing family will start a whole new batch of memories for this house, holidays and friends and growing kids to make it a home, it was a blessing.
We waved him off after answering questions and hopped into the car seconds later. We didn’t need a final walk through of the rooms, we didn’t even look back as we drove off the driveway.
And we smiled.
We smiled because there is nothing better than giving something you love into the right hands, to someone who will love and cherish it as you did. To know who will fill the rooms with laughter, to be able to visualize our home in this new life felt so right.
It completed this whole thing perfectly.
