We are in transition!
I am not good at transition.
We leave Vancouver and travel up desolation sound (2 ferries, 6 hours)
Our truck and trailer are loaded to the brim with all the extras we couldn’t fit in, or things we will need for the next few weeks. We don’t get into the new place for 16 days… not long really, but tricky with 3 kids, 2 dogs and 2 hamsters.
A blast into my parents to pick up our eldest (kid and dog) and then a night at a friend’s. To see our 3 munchkins all snuggling together in a double bed, to hear the girls giggling into the night and updating each other on their 10 days apart, to see the dogs wrapped around each other on their pillows.. to be us,. All of us again – was priceless.
Morning hits and the fatigue sets in. We have another ferry right this morning and then are off to pick up a rented trailed outside of Nanaimo. It is a long day in the car with 3 kids who just want to ride bikes.
2 weeks… 2 weeks camping and transitioning, and adapting and being patient. 2 weeks of telling the little dude “no we can’t go home” 2 weeks of sharing positive dreams to keep the girls spirits up and stress levels down.
I know we can do this… we have done it before. Soon we will be at the new place, finding our routine and making a new home.
But for now… we embrace the fun, and we splurge a bit on the treats.
We keep it happy and we enjoy the moment!
