Tick, tick, tick . . . it’s getting closer. The “NEW YEAR” the fresh start, the slate wiped clean.
The line drawn in the sand what we use to reset our focus and realign our goals and values for life.
Reset.
Because we all need a reset every now and then, right?
I “set intentions” each New Year for the year ahead. One simple focus point for my life in the coming months to help me stay on the path and not get distracted by glittery shiny things.
I don’t set resolutions. I don’t have “pounds” to lose, or strict goals to meet.
I just find focus in one simple word,
Last year I wanted to simplify. I wanted to make running my house, my business and my life “easier” I wanted to ditch the excess, the noise and the unnecessary and focus on the things that brought me reward and that mattered. The year before (2012) was ACTION (and wow, did that ever work!)
And I reminded myself of this intention throughout the year when things got a little crazy, or opportunities came up that I thought I should take.
I stripped my life down to my intention of keeping things simple and made decisions based on that.
And it worked. It helped keep me on “my” path and helped me stay focused on “MY” goals.
So, as I sit here now, a day before the New Year comes again, I am starting to plan ahead for the year. What might my intention be going forward into 2014? What are my base goals and objectives.
What do I really WANT???
I don’t want “more” and I don’t want “less” I am fine where I am at.
I want to see somethings come to “fruition” and be resolved, and I am looking forward to growth in certain areas.
And if i were to narrow it all down. . . what DO I want?
So, that is what I will spend my next few days thinking about. And by the first week in the New Year I will set my 2014 intention.
And perhaps you will join me? Maybe you too can take the next few days to look back on your year, and see where your successes where, and where you want things to move forward. Maybe we can set an intention together this year?
So, check back here in a day or two and get ready to share.
Write your intention for the year, and lets hold each other accountable.
Sound fair?
