As a blogger, much of the support and success comes from growing my tribe.
My tribe of other bloggers, and my tribe of blogging networks and sites.
I am super duper thrilled to be joining in and supporting the PTPA as a Blogaholic in 2014! As a Blogaholic I will continue to write and share my content, but also have chances to support the amazing work that the PTPA team does in testing and sharing about family products.
Which is awesome.
I get to write, and share and support all the other amazing Blogaholics and have MORE places for my original content to go. I get to hang with more writers, in more places.
Which is also awesome.
It means that I might get to share more chicken vlogs, with more people. Because more people should see more chicken vlogs. Don’t cha think?
And since i’ll be there, and you know me, you should come check it out as well. Even if you don’t have a blog, you can still sign up to join the PTPA community and get involved as a parent product tester.
I mean. . . that’s cool.
So, for all the people in the PTPA community who DON’T know me. . . this is me. In 10 lines!
1. I am a mom of 3. Two girl, one Boy. One tween. She is getting difficult, but is still easier than the 4yr old boy.
2. 18months ago my hubs and I “quit” our life, sold our home, ditched our jobs and moved to a small rural island on BC’s coast. It was the best decision we EVER made. Our journey starts HERE.
3. We have a “Gentleman’s Farm” Think the movie “Babe”, but our dogs chase the chickens. And our mice don’t talk (or don’t have TIME to talk before we catch them!) We have fresh eggs, veggies, a farm stand and all the fabulous things you can imagine. We also have a lot of duck poo.
4. I like to cook. I like to eat. I don’t craft. I do build things. Just not little crafty things. I like to build BIG things. And I carry a chainsaw.
5. Yes. I blog about chickens. I may even start vlogging about the ducks. I do this because I think chickens are cool. I am NOT a crazy chicken lady and do NOT knit for my chickens.
Although some of those chicken sweaters are kind of cute.
6. I have terrible grammar. And may make spelling mistakes. My mom will usually comment on the post when I do this. Don’t feel awkward about it. . . it is just our thing.
7. I will frequently post photos of my family hiking, sailing and enjoying life. For this I won’t apologize. YOU should be outside enjoying life as well and I will continue to tell you that. I am happy, and I like to spread happiness. 🙂
8. I am turning 40 this year. That is really starting to freak me out so you are going to have to start making me feel young. Say nice things in the comments, tell people how young I look. Use words like “Vibrant”, “Youthful” and “glowing” . . . It is going to be a difficult year.
9. I am the publisher of this site. It is awesome and the writers over there are super amazing. They are the women who will arrive at your house with a shovel and a bottle of tequila just when you need a big hole dug in your yard. I think I carry the least amount of angst in the whole group which sometimes makes me feel like a dancing unicorn in the darkness. But that’s ok!
10. did you make it to ten? If you did I am really impressed. Note for future- I never write this long. This is good to know going forward! I will usually only take a few quick minutes of your time! Aren’t I nice?
I look forward to chatting with all you PTPA peeps more over the coming months! Hope you are ready!
Jules
