Spring has finally sprung here on the west, and with it, the return of our broody hen.
Our Lovely “Mo” has been working hard keeping her eggs warm and toasty, and hopefully soon, we will have some spring chickens to add to the flock.
Which honestly, is exactly what we need right now. After the loss of our beautiful ducks we have all bit a little down in the face. New life always perks you up and helps you see the good around you.
Check out my latest VLOG to see MO doing her work, and hear a little more about Broody hens. I am taking you right inside the hen house today to get all close and personal with our momma hen!
And check out our proud daddy. The rooster, not the husband, although it is hard to tell who is more proud. Seeing as Mo is the hubby’s hen, and the rooster “belongs” to him as well, he is pretty impressed with how well his flock is performing.
And for those of you who are confused about what “BROODY” means. . . remember when you wanted a baby so bad? You got all mushy thinking of it? Well, that is our MO. Except, instead of fawning over newborns and weeping at hallmark commercials, she sits on eggs. All day. Everyday. Until they (hopefully) hatch.
We will be checking her eggs soon to see if there is anything “ALIVE” in there… hopefully we can capture that for you, so stay tunes.
