When we moved into our new home we were left with a variety of cool furniture. Footstools, tables, drawers. . . even beds! In my “previous” life, before we spent 18 months renting and living on bare essentials, I loved to refinish old furniture, so my heart took a leap when I saw the offerings left behind.
On my girls day out with my daughters we stopped by the local fabric store. Now I haven’t stepped foot in a fabric store for almost 2 years, and previously it was a weekly adventure. We browsed, we touched and we found a few fabrics that inspired our creativity.
I love deep, heavy fabrics, reminiscent of ancient manors in England, where the fellows go out fox hunting and the cooks in the kitchen roast things over an open fire.
The New house has a library, and I thought this fabric would work PERFECTLY in there.
Plus, it is covered in roosters. . . and I have a soft spot for roosters as you know!
The girls and I want to refinish and recover one of these two footstools to go in our library. We will toss some paint on the walls and add some ambiance with accessories as well. BUT, we can’t choose which one!
I need the help of all you design savvy people. Which footstool would you choose? It will be tucked away into our library as a place to rest your feet (or bumb) or (for the taller of the two) place a chessboard, or a tray or port and cheese.
Mmm. port.
