Sometimes I make things complicated. Too complicated. I plan, and muse and think out the little details. But this planning sometimes means I have great intentions, and terrible follow through.
This is something I am working hard on fixing, especially this year, this month.
With summer here, our goal is to keep it simple, to enjoy and to make memories. I don’t want to complicate things with crazy plans. . .
I just want to wear flip flops and sundresses and not worry about that extra bit of love handle poking out.
I want impromptu picnics that don’t necessary meet all the nutritional guidelines
I want to leave the house completely unprepared for activities, but totally ready for adventure.
I want to eat chocolate in the morning, or at night . . . or whenever we have the desire.
I want to sleep in, and stay up late.
Or even wake early, and nap at noon.
I want to just let go of some of the regular rules, knowing that too soon September will be back upon us and the freedom we feel when summer rolls around will be gone.
So, today we start on our new plan.
And to remind me to take things with a sense of youthfulness, I am stuffing my picnic basket with Kinder Surprise. Even if we aren’t fully prepared, these little treats will go a long way in keeping the fun alive.
What are your rules for summer? Are you ready for adventure?
