Its hot out, and we are making the most of it. Trips to the lake, hikes in the forest and cold dinners that keep me out of the kitchen.
But eventually it all gets too much, especially for the littlest dude.
I always feel guilty having the TV on during the day, but sometimes you need to escape the heat and chill out inside, where it is cool and quiet, for a while.
It is nice when that cool play is educational though. It makes me feel a little better about tossing tech at the kids!
Little dude has a VTech Innotab 3 (baby) that has been keeping him busy, and out of the sunshine during these peak UV times.
And what a treat! To be able to keep up with his big sisters as they snap pics and take videos with their Tablets, and to be able to manage the apps himself and make his way through the tablet without frustration.
Of course, his favourite thing is always to play with Mom! I am always taking pictures of the kids, so he enjoyed turning the tables and snapping some of me!
He did video as well . . . but there is no way I am sharing that!
Tech has value to our kids, and providing them the opportunity to curl up in a cool corner of the house and explore technology that is suited to their skills and age is a gift. The Vtech Innotab thing, while it doesn’t seem like a summer toy, was perfect for the times when we needed to escape “summer” and just be.
