Our daughter has always been an animal lover. We did the rounds of hamsters, fish and puppies, then moved to rabbits and chickens when we went rural.
She gets it from me, and I totally understand her passion for critters. I remember as a young girl “loving” many a creature. . . to DEATH. I just couldn’t put them down, or let them go. I would sleep surrounded by frogs and lizards and hamsters, if I could.
It was a little more than a passion actually, they were an obsession.
And so it goes with my gal, and now my son. They are OBSESSED with our creatures.
Thankfully they spread the love between our 39 fowl friends, but as it will be there is always one or two that get “extra love”
Poor Butterscotch who is my sons favourite. The “go-to” hen who passively allows him to drag her around, and even snoozed with him one afternoon in the sun.
And our Polish hens (who I say are too stupid to know how to escape) They always get dragged around.
Or made to dance. . .
So, to give the poor hens a break we are focussing on replacements this holiday season. Robot and interactive critters that the kids can NOT love to death.
Even though they WILL love them to death.
The Little Live Pets are fun and make cute little tweeting and chirping noises (much nicer than a chicken by the way) The little birds can also record sounds and talk back (just like your kids do!)
Check out the tweeting in action below!
You can pick up the birds on their own, or in a cage and Little Live Pets also come in butterfly varieties! I am all about having a farm full of critters, but sometimes the ones you don’t have to clean up after are the best ones for under the tree. And take a moment to enter to WIN a Little Live Pets Birdcage of your own! Contest is for Canadian residents only, excluding Quebec.
