There are a few things that a girl needs to learn before she becomes a woman. One of those things (according to my 9 year old) is the ability to plan ahead for emergencies.
One never knows when trouble will come up, and one needs a bit of a snack to appease her tummy.
So all weekend my dear daughter walked around with my sun hat on, and a granola bar tucked under the cap. . . just in case.
Once or twice it got a little warm and melted, but as she reminded me, at least she isn’t going “all Paddington” and tucking a marmalade sandwich under there.
We were lucky enough to experience Paddington Bear this weekend, at home, snuggled on the couch. The DVD was released April 28th, and is NOW available online and in stores everywhere.
From the beloved novels by Michael Bond and producer David Heyman (HARRY POTTER), PADDINGTON tells the story of the comic misadventures of a young Peruvian bear (voiced by Ben Whishaw) who travels to the city in search of a home. Finding himself lost and alone, he begins to realize that city life is not all he had imagined – until he meets the kindly Brown family who read the label around his neck that says “Please look after this bear. Thank you,” and offer him a temporary haven. It looks as though his luck has changed until this rarest of bears catches the eye of a museum taxidermist.

Now, our kids have LOVED the Paddington stories, so to be able to see him “for reals” was pretty special, but what is even better is being able to share it with YOU.
