I have been married 15 years and over that time I have tried hard not to “change” my man, but to work with him to find his best self!

His “best self” un-balls his wet and stinky socks before he puts them in the laundry.  His “best self” cleans rat traps BEFORE I wake up in the morning. His even better self doesn’t even let me know he is setting the traps!

This “best” guy still hasn’t figured out that sweaters are sexy (to me) but he does know how to make that dishwasher sing, and that works almost as good as cable knit would.

And don’t worry fella’s, he is doing the same for me. When he burns my bathrobe and begs me to never, ever get another one, he is trying to lead me to a better me. I get that, and I can work with him.

But there is one change I did make, that I will continue to hold strong to.  A change that I am still so passionate about it might be a deal breaker if he resorted back to “the old ways”

It is his beard.

He started growing it more than 10 years ago after I had spent countless months begging him to try.  He wasn’t keen on it, saying his beard had always been patchy at best, but since it was winter figured a bit of excess scruff could help keep him warm.

Over the years it has become HIM.  It is his face, his look, his scruffily cheeks.  I know the feel of him as I kiss him, or hug him to my cheek.

Beard lover, or not, every mans face needs maintenance.  Whether your fellow is shaving every morning, or coming in to give the fur a trim, having the right tools makes all the difference.

A survey from the team at Philips to over 1000 men came up with some interesting results on how our fellows feel about their fuzzy bits.  We now know that 50% of the men surveyed think that a well groomed look is more attractive, but that 46% of them feel they need more guidance to know how to do that.  And despite the fact that women chat frequently about health and beauty, most men would NOT talk to their buddies about manscaping.

In the end, a good product, and a few tips can go a long way towards helping guys get the look they want! Be it “lumbersexual” or “clean shaven”, as long as it works for you and your partner, I say they should just own it and make it there own.
