Ahh, May! The sun is warm and the birds are chirping, bunnies, chicks and soon new baby goats are daily being added to our happy little farm. The kids are shedding jackets and boots in favor of t-shirts and bare feet, the dogs are just shedding. We take advantage of every warm day to be outside, working in the garden, planting and readying for a bountiful crop and soaking up the Vitamin D our bodies have been craving.
While working alongside my hubby in shorts and a tank one day, he casually looked at me and bluntly pointed out it might be time for me to do some shedding too.
Now don’t freak out, he didn’t mean pounds, he was referring to my “winter coat”. You see, I’m a practical gal, and winter here means long pants and long sleeved shirts and sweaters, day and night. My jammies are of the long and fuzzy variety, not very sexy but when your house is nearing 100 years old heat isn’t very reliable if someone forgets to stoke the fire before bedtime.
So during those chilly months when my extremities are covered in multiple layers of wool and fleece I don’t bother with waxing, preferring to add my own layer of warmth by way of hair. It’s quite amazing just how long leg hair can grow actually, not to mention the nice little blanket keeping my under arms toasty all winter. It is to this my darling husband was referring, and when I looked at my legs I realized he was very right. There wasn’t much of a visible difference between my legs and his, and while I’m not a particularly girly girl, I do lean towards smooth and soft when it comes to bare legs.
I hit the bathroom armed with my Nair Ultimate Microwavable Roll-On Wax kit, with Moroccan Argan Oil. I like this stuff because the wax washes easily off with warm, soapy water, leaving my legs smooth with no sticky residue.
I tackled the forest on my legs with vigor and in no time was smooth and silky, and ready to let the sun hit my pasty skin. It really did feel good shedding that winter coat, and hey, I probably lost at least a pound or two in the process!
