We have never redone a kitchen, not in any of the homes we have owned. It is always on the list, but the idea of it terrifies us. The design requirements, the demolition, and (egads) the expense.
We go over to friends who have granite counters and while I love the look of them, I could never justify the expense. I find I am too scared to even put my elbows on their multi thousand dollar countertops, and I know for certain I could never enjoy them in my own home.
I mean, I could get a boat for the cost of a granite counter.
But in our old house a kitchen reno is finally a priority. We are resisting starting, but with torn floors, and limited counter space, and only ONE electrical outlet, things are getting pretty nasty in our kitchen.
We are working our way towards it, and eventually it will be time to bring out the sledgehammer and start the tear down. We are already planning (mostly in our minds) to have country wrap around windows, a big glass door and a farm sink. Big investment items if you ask me, and ones that will leave very little room for other items.
So, we were excited to see a new line of Formica on the market.
