We thought it would be funny. Apparently it wasn’t.
Being April Fools day we thought we would “fool” the kids and tell them dad got a job working up in the Northwest Territories. The clincher being that because it was so cold we couldn’t bring the chickens or rabbits.
Oh, and that we were leaving in two weeks.
You know when you think it is going to be a laugh, and it completely backfires on you. What was going to be a giggle for me & hubs ended up in a teary drama with our 7yr old.
Through snot and sobs we explained that it was April Fools day . . (hahaha, isn’t it funny sweetheart) and that no, we were not moving, and would be staying put, and yes, she can keep the rabbits and chickens.
Promptly put in our place, we planned a day at the beach and chocolate/bran flake easter nests for breakfast.
The one good thing out of it though, apparently the kids DO love it here.
Good thing too, as I think we are here to stay!
