As a child I wasn’t smothered in gifts over the holidays, but nor did I go empty handed. My parents never fell for the “hot” toy, or “new” item, but stuck to the practical purchases, and gave us gifts that they knew we would use and love.

Which is exactly how my Barbie collection grew and grew.

My friends and I would take over our entire basement playroom and turn it into a Barbie town.  Cartons and boxes made condo’s and ranchers for the dolls, clothes were laid out ready for Barbie’s activities, and new accessories added with glee after every birthday and Christmas.

I was a Barbie kid, and my kids are becoming Barbie kids.

And now, not only is Barbie continuing to participate in their play, but she also has her own show! Barbie: Life in the Dreamhouse.

My kids love the current episodes on Netflix, and check online for ones they haven’t seen, and there will be even MORE new episodes launching November 23rd!   The Barbie Amaze Chase will premier November 23 @ 5PM on Teletoon & November 30 @ 8:30AM on YTV.
