My Mom doesn’t live just down the street or around the corner. We can’t pop over for a coffee, or meet up for a walk. When we do have time to get together it takes a bit of planning and lasts a few days.  It is living together for a weekend, surrounded by all the noise and chaos that comes with my home.

So our Mother’s Day just passed wasn’t a day, it was a weekend. It was multiple meals, moments where we could sit and chat while the kids played. It was cooking, and eating, and walking and talking. It was filling a bucket, instead of taking a sip from a glass.

So, when we had spent a weekend together, soaking each other up, and then on Sunday, while I was celebrating my own Mother’s Day, I celebrated her as well.

My mom has never stopped living. She always says YES, she is always ready to go.  She is an adventurer at heart, and a welcoming spirit.

I wanted to surprise her with gifts that suited her personality… and I was thrilled to see how much she loved what I chose!
