I had that moment on monday as I pulled into the preschool parking lot and saw the fire & rescue truck pull out of the driveway.
The “OMG” moment where you heart thumps and you panic because the preschool is heated with a wood burning fire.
My steps quickened as I walked up the path and the relief flooded me as I saw all the kids sitting outside with fireman hats on, happily eating their snack.
Then for the next two days I heard all about the Rescue fireman who came to check out the preschool, and witnessed a few demonstrations of STOP-DROP & ROLL.
Rescuers have always been exciting to our little dude, especially with Dad being part of the Marine Search & Rescue. He loves hearing stories of rescues and learning about people who come to the aid of others (especially in a fast boat, or fire truck)
So this birthday’s present was a hit on so many different levels.
Fisher Price has welcomed a new guy to town: Ed Venture. Our little fellow was thrilled with his Ed Venture Imaginext Rescue City Centre. The new Imaginext content has Ed as a dino warrior, as a fireman and as a knight!
Our little dude is a hard one to keep busy. Individual play is just not his thing and toys rarely keep his interest for more than a few minutes. But, when he unwrapped the Rescue City Centre, well he was immediately swept away into Rescue land (I think it was the firetruck that really did it)
The toy is small enough to fit into a childs bedroom and won’t take up ALL the real estate, but every piece of it engages the kids in play. It makes suggestions (“we need your help” & “calling all cars, calling all cars” ) and keeps their interest longer than most toys.
Even our girls were pulled into playing with it (thankfully it came with TWO guys) and it kept them busy for the rest of the evening.
And here I am, working from home with my little guy, as he happily continues to play with his Rescue City Centre. And in case that didn’t make a big enough impact, HE IS PLAYING ALONE! WHILE I WORK!
ALONE!
If you are looking for something for your little one for the holidays, consider checking out the Imaginext Ed Venture centres. Ed can be a Dinosaur Warrior riding his own Dino, or a Knight doing battle defending the Eagle Talon castle- these toys inspire imagination and adventure in our little ones.
Check out the Ed Venture website for great videos to watch with our kids, and enter to WIN one of $300 prize packs from Imaginext. Follow along on Ed’s Adventure throughout Canada and complete the tasks you need to save the world! Once the 9 clues are solved and the game is won you will be entered to win 1 of 5 $300 Imaginext prize packs
And be sure to hang around and do the adventures and enjoy the webisodes with your kids! I know Ed is a welcome visitor in my house (and a perfect playmate for my son!)
