Sometimes awesome things just land in front of us.

Awesome, creative, perfect things.

Such was this little thing.

I had the opportunity to create an event to celebrate Canadian Chicken while they were in Vancouver Sponsoring the Connecting Bloggers & Brands Conference.  I love my chicken (and chickens!)  so I wanted to make sure we had fun, thought about chicken, and remembered the event.

And what is more perfect (and fun) than hanging with 5 awesome bloggers and The Amazing Canadian Chicken rep at Raw Canvas in Yaletown.

I had heard that places like this exist, but to actually experience it – wowza!

We ate, (and oh my, it was delish)  and we painted.

And what did we paint . . . well, chickens, of course. 

And chickens are harder to draw than you think.

This is where we started with our canvas. It was intimidating staring at this blank canvas. Staring it down, dreading the first dab of paint.

The resident artist at Raw Canvas helped us all walk away with our own chicken canvas, even though some of us (yes me ) needed more help than others. I personally think that we were all pretty awesome in the end, and that each canvas took on the life of the blogger.  They were individual, and amplified our digital voice. Our brands came out through our chickens (that’s cool)

Everyone supported each other (because you never think your art is any good) and we all enjoyed a relaxing and peaceful break from the busy-world.

And, I have a feeling we all went home with a hankering for chicken . . . (check here for some great chicken recipes if our pics make you hungry!
