I know, this title is pretty dramatic.
But it’s true. This IS the best fudge in the world.
Namely because it is peanut butter fudge. And, in our family, we have a thing for peanut butter.
This was a recipe my eldest found on the internet that we had put on hold because we weren’t sure how difficult it was.
Eventually, she bribed me into assisting, and getting it figured out.
Turns out, it is pretty easy, and foolproof enough for an easily distracted 9yr old to make.
You still need adult supervision, of course. Especially since you are cooking down a gooey mixture of butter and sugar and cream – out to any figures that fall into that pot!
Ingredients:
1/2c butter
2 1/4c brown sugar
1/2 c milk
3/4c peanut butter (we use creamy)
1tsp vanilla
3 1/2 c Icing sugar
Heat the butter, brown sugar and cream over the stove until simmering. Simmer for 2 minutes.
From there, take it off the heat, and stir in vanilla and peanut butter.
Have waiting in a mixing bowl, the icing sugar. Pour this yummy, gooey, peanut buttery goodness on top of the icing sugar. The- beat it till smooth.
From here, just pop it in a pan and put it in the fridge to cool.
Not a lot made it to “cool” stage in our house (whoops) but it has turned into a family favorite when it does.
