With the air starting to turn crisp in the mornings, fall is starting to arrive. And with it, mounds of blackberries in our meadow.
The little man and I spent a few hours in the morning sunshine picking our fill of blackberries and apples, with more than enough for blackberry muffins that afternoon.
It was a bliss. Warm sunshine, bow of fresh berries, happy boy and even a lounging, loyal dog.
Such an idyllic moment.
Until this we go back up to the house, and I see the damage.
Blackberry stains on pants and shirt (not to mention fingers and dog paws). Mix that in with grass stains and dirt, we have a right mess.
Little boy goes into the bath, dog gets thrown in the pond, and the clothes, they get tossed in to pre-soak in a bucket of Resolve.
Barely 30 minutes later they are tossed into the wash with the load of laundry and it was like our Blackberry expedition never even happened.
Except for these of course. . .
