It has been a lazy sunday. L.A.Z.Y.
And exactly what we needed. After a whirlwind week of travel (for me), trips to Vancouver island, and squeezing a weeks worth of work into ONE DAY when I got home to Salt Spring Island. Come Sunday, this mama needed to chill.
Alas, the little man didn’t get the memo and was singing in my ear at a very unreasonable hour.
And then the inbox filled (apparently it is as bad as a 5 year old)
And then the morning disappeared.
Suddenly it was 11:30am, the girls were still downstairs and we needed an intervention.
And just like that, through the clouds and the rain the sun broke through. We “galvanized into action” (an old family saying, but not sure where that came from) and we made life happen.
Runners strapped on, cameras tossed on our shoulders and we dove into the sunshine.
A beach walk with the dogs ended up being an exploration of epic proportions (more of that to come) and has us all turning our cheeks to the sunshine to soak in the rays. Jackets were tossed over our arms as we felt that finger of spring tickling us.
Fresh air filled our soul, and the walk did our sunday good.
Home for snacks, play and feeling no guilt about curling up in front of the fire to play lego. A dose of good activity makes lazy about for the rest of the day feel legal, and even earned.
I get “stuck in” frequently, just wanting to finish “one more thing” but the truth is, it will never be finished and there is always something else waiting around the corner to be done.
Today was a great reminder that the sunshine doesn’t last and one must grab it while it is out.
