Conference season is quickly approaching, so last night hubby and I sat down and went through the “schedule”
With 5 multi day events booked between April 28th and July 20th, one trip lasting 10 days, our planning goes to epic proportions.
Hubby is left home with 4 kids (3 +exchange student) 36 chickens, 3 rabbits and 2 dogs. Add into that rock climbing once a week, softball twice a week, and only 4 days of school each and EVERY week, and hubby has his work cut out for him this spring.
And as we work through our schedules, I start MY planning for these awesome adventures.
First up on the list for me is heading to Scottsdale Arizona for Mom2.0. Both this event AND this location are firsts for me, so cue the uber excitement.
And perhaps a wee bit of stress. . .
Mom2.0 looks pretty fancy, and this farm girl doesn’t clean up all that often, and when she does, it takes some time.
I mean, I keep the added hair on my legs to reduce our winter heating bill. . . it is going to take some pretty heavy machinery to get THOSE cleaned up.
I mean, there is a COCKTAIL PARTY. I haven’t been to a cocktail party in years (and I am guessing that those extra pounds I have collected will def. affect my ability to squeeze into THAT dress)
Thankfully I have my go to site for finding a dress to fit a tall girl, with a little extra in the tummy, broad shoulders and “smaller than average” bust.
Dress Mavens hooked me up and made me feel pretty fancy at BlissDom last year, and I am excited to explore more of their styles (more on that to come)
With the dress sorted, I am booking all those other necessary bits for leaving the island: eyebrow tidy, hair cut and “shoe polish” (there is ALOT of chicken poop in my neck of the woods) and cleaning out the purse.
Perhaps I should just get a new purse this year? Hmmm..
With all the excitement, and nerves, there is one thing I don’t need to worry about this year.
Participating in events is a necessary thing for business growth, but being able to do it with your besties makes it an extraordinary adventure. I am bringing my favourite accessory (or perhaps I am HER accessory since she IS the tall one) this year to Mom2.0 and I am freaking excited about it.
So, wait for a deluge of updates during the last week of April as we take over Scottsdale and get our ‘learn on at mom2.0
(can I have a “whoot whoot”?)
