Ok. I am not really all that easily impressed by things, especially technology. I have seen so many apps, and different platforms and since we got our WiiU, 4-d is pretty much common place now.
So, this was my day today.
Sit down, write, work, putter about. Open awesome box from Crayola with the plan to test our their “Colour Alive” colouring books.
Sit in sunshine and colour.
(I know. its a REALLY tough life)
I am not a great colourer- my hands get sore and I never figured out how to do all the fancy shading so that the lines don’t run together. I suffered through.
When I finished, Hubby laughed at my drawing (it isn’t THAT bad. . .)
But, then the fun began. I downloaded the Crayola Colour Alive App, scanned over my pretty, pretty picture and then went “Oh My Word”
Hubby heard the exclamation and looked over at the iPad. . and (HOLY MOLEY) there was my horse. In 4-d. I could LOOK MY DRAWING IN THE EYES.
Seriously impressed folks.
(and we can add in here that my entire work day, and the hubby’s, because a wash)
The Crayola Colour Alive app actually brings your drawings (or your kids. . .) to life. With special effects felts your dragons can BREATH fire. The perfect blend of arts & crafts with technology for our kids generation.
And perfect for blowing the minds of all the 40 year old parents out there.
With a variety of Colour Alive Colouring book themes (Skylanders, Barbie, Enchanted Fairies and Mythical Creatures) these books appeal to a variety of age groups (ahem, including adult! Hello Dragons)
And they have even added the Colour live feature to a Virtual Design & Drive kit and a Virtual Fashion show.
(ladies, remember when we used to use the plates and pencil crayons to try and creation the most AWESOME fashion designs? Well, this is that on steroids! )
We let the kids loose on the books and lost them for the night.
Little one was tasked with doing the colouring:
While Big sister ran the tech. Using her tablet, she downloaded the app and brought to life her little sisters creations.
The app brings in all the crazy colouring you do of the main character, (even the mistakes).
Check out this video my girls did showing you how to use the Crayola Colour Alive app. If this doesn’t have you running to the store to grab one, I don’t know what will. Crayola Colour Alive is available online or in person at all major stores.
