Most of the bloggers in my world are balancing parenting, partnership and often a part or full time job along with their blog. They “wish” they had more time to devote to it. They wish they had the confidence to LEAP into it fully, instead of just dabbling their toe in the waters of part (or part of part) time entrepreneurship.
So, how to we prepare to leap? How to we ensure that, after we remove our safety net of a steady Jay-Oh-Bee we have something there to catch our fall?
1. Trust
A teeny tiny bit of trust and faith goes a long way. Now this is trust in yourself, not in anything else. Confidence that maybe you can actually do this. Trust that you will have the fortitude to keep exploring, keep pushing and keep trying through the rough days, long nights and (sometimes tears) that comes along with starting a business
2. Network
A community behind you does so much for the soul and the referrals. Build your network and be sure to let them in on your leap so that even though they may not be able to catch you as you descend, they can certainly slow the fall.
Oh, and a network can help open the wine/dry the tears/ brainstorm through the storm as needed
3. Resources
READ. RESEARCH and ASK FOR HELP. Read everything you can. Source ideas. Ask questions and explore opportunities like they are oxygen needed for survival.
In fact, start here – Download the FREE e-book “SMB Essentials: 12 Things You Need To Know Before Starting A Small Business”
And every chance you have for information, take it.
Then sort it, sift it and pull out the golden bits that will help you move ahead.
In the end, you will either succeed or learn something. . . to me that is always worth the risk of the leap of faith!
