I thought it might be time to share some of my secrets with you – just a few, and only the good ones!
Here are a few things you may not know about me.
(And, if you do know most of this, I am suddenly starting to feel a little awkward. Maybe you know too much . . .)
Let me know in the comments below how many you DO know, or what surprised you the most, or something I didn’t know about YOU!
1. I am the youngest of two daughters, although most people think I am older than my sister (because I am so much more mature . . . I am SURE that is the reason)
2. If you walk into my kitchen when I am cooking dinner DO NOT taste or nibble on what I am cooking. It will be the death of you.
3. As with above – if I am cooking, you are also not allowed to eat anything else until I serve you a meal. You snacking while I am cooking pushes me over the edge of good manners.
4. I sob at every pet death. Intensely. I sob, and snort and shake my fist at each death.
5. White wine is not worth the glass it is poured into. It is a waste of space and I do not understand how people can drink it.
6. Red wine is the elixir of life.
7. I am an introvert. I am also outgoing and have learned to adapt to an extroverted world. But, if you ever share a hotel room with me at a conference or event, my introversion is this big white elephant in the room with us.
8. I don’t actually feel I am owed anything (surprising for our generation) and am surprised at everything that comes my way.
9. I sometimes work so hard I cry.
10. I will write while drinking. But I never press “publish” until the morning. I am logical beyond all comprehension .. . even after a bottle of wine.
11. I don’t like old movies, I think they are dull. I do like those ridiculousness, futuristic action movies tho . . those are cool. And anything that has characters with strange powers, or cool robots, or even giant bugs.
12. If I cook food I don’t really enjoy eating it. Except glazed ham. I will always eat glazed ham.
13.I only like to shower when I am really dirty. It feels like a waste to just “get up and shower” unless I am covered with muck, or sweat. I need to get over this to adhere to basic hygiene requirements . . or I need to exercise more.
14. My husband is my best friend and always will be. He makes me be a better me. And, no offense girls, but it is him I would like an evening out with, not you.
15. Books are my Bermuda triangle. Once a book is open I am lost to the world. For this reason, we have “no books allowed” holidays and activities.
16. I like weeding more than planting. I like the cleaning up part of weeding, the clearing out, and tidying.
17. For at home projects, my husband always finishes what I start, or at least puts away the stuff I used to do it.
18. I don’t like to buy new. I love old things and have lost miles of skin off my fingers refinishing old furniture.
19. I don’t do complainers. If all you do is whine and never find a solution, we are done. I look forward, and I want to be around people who do the same. I also think you should always do your best. Like, no excuses . . . always!
20. I believe, truly and entirely that it will all work out. Honestly. I don’t doubt it. But, I make no assumptions about what “working out” means . . I just trust that it will.
