Beach. Pool. Food.
It should have been an easy day with everything at our finger tips.
Should have!
Armed with our SPF60 we had to rustle the kiddies out of bed before the breakfast finished at 10am. The kids were beat from the 24hr journey (as were the grownups) and we were all supremely looking forward to chilling on the beach! We just had to get our three yr old, who barely sits still for breakfast at home, to eat from a buffet, in a strange environment, with a pool right beside the table.
Yah, right. Like that was going to happen.
That damn 3 yr old. We caved on the plane with the soother, and we just kept caving. Bad parents all round we were all on a role of doing our best to stifle the disruption he was built to make. The difficulty comes with an exhausted, whining kid who won`t wear shoes, or a shirt, and didn’t like to be sandy.
Needless to say, we kept the soother (it blocked some of the noise) and we kept our smiles on, and creativity peaking.
And we may have slipped some rum into his banana smoothie – possibly twice!
So, armed with a stash of peanut butter sandwiches for the 3 year old, we finally struck off the few steps to the beach.
Again, we had very little idea of what St. Lucia was all about before we came. I was expected shark infested waters, killer jellyfish and flesh eating coral. I was thrilled to find out that there was very little (including no sharks! yay) in St. Lucia that would eat or even maim us!
We beached, we napped and tested out the resort features. We were pretty psyched about the beach activities before we came, and the sand was dreamy!
We fell exhausted (and full of rum) into bed that night (and just like every night to come . . . oh, except 1 night! But that night we were naughty!) around 730pm.
A plate of goodies from the bar, and a movie on for the kids helped us recover from the exhausting day of play.
We had a date for the morrow! Part of our trip win included a island tour- leaving at 8am., and as a forward to tomorrow`s post, lets just say this was probably the worst day we had in St. Lucia.
Bad news all round folks!
Bad!
