It is taking a lot to get me off this island and into the city (yes, the big scary city!) I am comfortable here in my little nest in the trees. I am loving the solitude, the peace and the way the day seems to provide me with extra hours.
But, every now and then, I am getting off the island! For the good stuff!
I am heading to toronto to blissdom (a blogger-licious conference). This means a ferry ride and then a plane ride . . . over 24 hours of transit time, but worth it.
So, when an invite came to attend a product launch at LUSH cosmetics, the evening before my flight, I changed ferry reservations and added myself to the list.
Why? Well, there are usually nice snacks at these things (and I am a sucker for snacks) and I am a LUSH virgin, and what better way to check it out than via a private launch? (Oh, and my oldest and bestest was going to be able to come with . . . time to catch up!)
So, after an early morning ferry and a day pulling together my Blissdom Costume party gear (and replacing my tattered chucks) I took off in the direction of LUSH (late, but smiling)
Being this was my “cherry pop” experience, I have no comparison to how the brand is normally delivered, but this night the staff were fab (delicious in fact) tossing out arm massages and keeping all us yummy bloggers engaged and laughing. They were spreading the word about a new product (FUN) that is a mouldable soap (kind of like playdough. . . but soap!)
All natural and preservative free with a portion of all global sales going into a FunD account to be distributed as grants to projects providing recreation activities to children living in difficult surroundings. A nice product, with all natural smells and a high fun factor!
And they had cupcakes. The little mini kinds with lots of icing.
The kids had a chance to play with my LUSH fun samples when I got home; two hours rolling fun shapes on the kitchen table kept the tv off and the laughter coming.
LUSH fun was a good product. The kids liked it, it smelled good and has a great cause behind it. Check it out at LUSH cosmetics after november 1st (great add in to the holiday pressies)
