The subjects were removed on the offer and the sold sign is up. That’s it… the end of the story…. Or one part of it anyway.
Luckily we only had a day or two after getting back from our weekend away to wait. We had great news about the inspection (breathe deep sigh of relief) and then waiting, on the edge of our seat for the final confirmation we needed.
In my heart (or possibly my gut) I knew this was going to work out, but we try so hard not to get ahead of ourselves. Not to plan the next thing until the first is resolved.
I was standing at the counting paying for my bottle of champagne (and telling the clerk WHY I was buy champagne) when the phone rang.
I didn’t answer it though… I was chatting with the clerk about our adventure!
Ding, ding, ding… text messages, voice messages, and hubby on the line confirming the sale. And me with my champagne, and a face splitting smile.
In 5 weeks we are outta here, off on our own, in a new community (and a small one at that) trying to build a life from the ground up, a home, a business, a social life (for us and the kids) We will be trying to manage everything I do from “afar” with only coveted wifi at my disposal!
In 5 weeks the life we had initially planned for our family when we moved here will be over. Our young person (yes, we are OLD now) dreams will have moved along and grown and changed just as we have.
As we popped the champagne that evening, hubby had the same look on his face as when I told him (each of the 3 times) that I was pregnant. He was a little stunned, with a glimmer of happiness behind the glazed eyes. I asked him if he was okay… and he looked at me and said “now I just have to tell work”
Right, the job.
Well, this could go so many ways….
He booked the meeting for tomorrow morning. I guess we are still crossing our fingers for bridges to remain intact …..
