We have a lot of animals that need nurturing on our farm, and after the end of a long day, with the dogs at our heels tracking the miles on the property, they are often just given dinner and left to relax.
Until the kids downloaded Pokemon Go of course.
Every night this week the kids have BEGGED (and I mean actually begged us) to go for a walk. Before dinner, after dinner, mid day- anything. They are passionate about getting off our property (and using mom and dad’s hotspot for their data-less phones)
We have logged 20K THIS WEEK just on Pokewalks.
All with our furry beasts at our sides.
While the dogs don’t see the Pokemon (obviously) they really don’t care WHY we are out there stomping the miles, they are just grateful for the additional activity, and new explorations the kids are leading them on.
And we aren’t the only ones in on the craze. Local animal shelters across the globe are encouraging people to come walk the dogs, and “pokemon go” at the same time! Not only are the dogs getting walked, but relationships are being built and that is leading to adoptions!
Plus, players can hide their Pokemon Go addiction behind a greater purpose!
Walking your dog is one step towards a healthy pooch, but a healthy diet is just as important. Check out Petcureans amazing selection of foods for every pet.
So, WHY are people walking with the Pokemon GO app? First off you need to walk 5K to hatch a Pokemon egg, second, you track points and XP with every step, AND pokemon are hidden according to your GPS. The more ground you cover, the more chance you have of finding a pokemon to catch!
So, download the app, clip a lead to your pooch and become Pokemon Go Fans together! I bet your dog will enjoy the app as much as you do!
