My hubby and I keep getting deja vu driving around Saltspring. It seems so familiar to us. The winding roads, the roadside gardens. Sheep.
It’s the most english place we have seen, other than england, of course.
And with hubby being a Brit, and us visiting the UK almost a dozen times in as many years, that British feeling is appreciated.
Just in case Saltspring isn’t British enough for you, and you feel the need to leap a little farther, why not take a jump over the pond and get your “royal” on.
Quintessential England – Pick up a sweet little leasehold pub. Live in the pretty village of Cornwall (one of our fave spots!). You are down in the south, close to the sea and the pub seems to be the hub of the towns activity (If you have met many Brits you will understand why the takings of this pub are 100% “wet”)
For a little more you can grab a B&B (with owner accommodation) in Devon, another pretty little English town. With 7 guest rooms and a 5 bedroom space for you, this b&b will bring you an interesting assortment of travelers and provide a stable place to raise the kiddies!
England to me is all about early spring and a world of history. If you feel like an adventure, and get a kick out of the British accent, this might be the one for you! One caveat – Buying and selling property in England is chaotic! Be prepared to be on tenterhooks until the day you are supposed to move it! There are no guarantees!
