What, you haven’t hear of wwoofing yet?

Wwoofing is world wide opportunities on organic farms.

Cool eh.

This organization connects farms around the world with potential short term volunteers in exchange for food and accommodation.  Many of these farms are remote and many, many of them welcome children.

Not only is this an amazing way to see the world and connect with like minded people (many farms have more than one wwoofer at a time) but it can also give the kids a chance to experience a lifestyle that is not permanently available to them.

You can search available opportunities and see if you are the right person to assist!  Check this link too! You will need to purchase a wwoof membership to apply for volunteer positions. You will need to purchase a membership for each  country you want to wwoof in, but in exchange will get lots of support and assistance!
