I consider this first week of school “hell week” in our house, in fact any “first week” after an extended break is pretty traumatic.
I am shaking kids out of bed in the mornings, scrambling trying to get them fed before the bus comes and once the morning chaos ends it stand around the house, wondering what I should be doing.
And then they come home.
And they come home HANGRY. They are tired and irritable and over stimulated. They want to crash, but if I let them then our whole bedtime plan is messed up. So we snack, and we play and we steal one sweet hour after the bus drops them to capture the last bit of summer.
We are a Peanut Butter friendly (read obsessed) family, so when the kids got their hands on the new Reese Spread, it was a match made.
Smooth peanut-y chocolate, excellent for topping our farm grown apples, or even eaten straight from the spoon. It is a tasty, after school snack that I can leave for the kids that will help bring their energy UP, without filling their tummies for dinner.
The Reese Spreads are now available across the country in 650G jars that are great for baking, topping or just spoon feeding into your mouth (before the kids get home, while you are madly trying to finish the last remaining items on your list).
Check out the HERSHEY’s Kitchen website for ideas and recipes for using your Reese Spread!
They also come in a handy snacksters size, complete with graham cracker dippers for the perfectly sized snack. (mmmm peanut butter & chocolate with graham crackers)
Check back next week where I will be sharing some of our favourite “made better with Reese” recipes! My daughter is going to try her world famous peanut butter fudge recipe, using the new Reese Spreads! Mmmm. Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge; what could be better??
And to keep your back to school snacking easy, Reese has a $100 gift basket FILLED with tasty products for a lucky winner. Please note you must live in Canada (exc Quebec) and be over 18yrs. Enter below, and may the chocolatey-peanut butter luck be with you!
