We live rurally. Our driveway is almost half a kilometer long. We can not walk to the store, and the stores we do have don’t sell the “family packs” that a family our size really needs.
So sometimes we need to caution the children to ration.
The toilet paper, of course.
Because running out of toilet paper is one of the most devastating things to happen to a family of five. With one bathroom.
It is akin to wearing your bathing suit to the pool and forgetting to bring your underwear for the way home.
Oh, and you wore jeans to the pool.
It’s that uncomfortable.
Stubbing your toe against the fireplace bricks when you get up in the middle of the night.
Cause running out of TP can be painful too.
Or how about the empty soap dispenser at the public washrooms? Or that time you went to the bowling alley and got your rental shoes only to realize you wore flip flops and forgot your socks?
Icky. Nasty. And yes…. being short on TP is just as nasty.
And living so gosh darn far away from anywhere that sells the BIG rolls of paper, sometimes we just need to conserve!
And now that we have introduced the family to Cottonelle wipes, we have even more to keep in stock (and more to ration) But once you try wet… a bottom can never go back!
