For years I volunteered at our local SPCA. I went there every weekend, cleaned kennels, fed the animals and shared the love. It was always awe inspiring to see the donations come in. Bags of food, boxes of blankets and supplies that were needed to keep these animals warm and fed over the weeks (and months) they were looking for homes.
But there was always a point that the piles got smaller and smaller, and the blankets a little threadbare, and we would start asking for help.
Starting today Petcurean has a way for you to help support animals taken in by the Pack Project SK. With every dog or cat photo posted on instagram between Oct. 1-4th with the hashtag #PetcureanLove, Petcurean will donate 1lb of Petcurean pet food to @packprojectsk (an organization that not only rescues dogs, but also provides relief in the form of donations/supplies to other like-minded rescue groups).
Their hope is to try to get them to 500lbs by Oct. 5; and they need your help to get there!
Log onto instagram, upload a pick of YOUR pet and be sure to make your Instagram profile public so we can see your photo, and add the hashtag! While you are there follow @petcurean so you can be friends and learn more about the work they are doing in the community.
Now, you MIGHT be wondering why they don’t just donate the 500lbs directly? A big part of any fundraising is to also raise awareness for the foundation you support. Petcurean wants to raise awareness for The Pack Project, instead of just making the donation privately. This way, hundreds of people will see this post and hear of their organization and hopefully help them out by perhaps volunteering, etc. in the future.
So, stop for a minute, take a picture of your furry friend and share it to instagram, and know that you have just donated a pound of food to a pet who needs it.
