This is slightly embarrassing to say, especially since I work in a “digital environment” and from the outside seem rather technologically aware.
But, (now please don’t laugh) I didn’t really know what a tablet was until this week.
I didn’t understand the “purpose” of them (and yes, I am ALL about purposeful things)
They just didn’t make sense to me.
But, with digital devises being high on the girls christmas lists, and a Nexus 7 Tablet in our hands, I figured it was time to figure these things out.
And I get it now, I do.
The Nexus 7 Tablet (retail $249.00) is a great little tablet. Handy for grabbing email, accessing google apps and games or even browsing the internet. The girls can use it for their tunes (go Kidz Bop) especially since we grabbed some bluetooth speakers as well.
I thought tablets were all about “just games”, but 5 minutes with the Nexus proved me wrong. It snagged our wifi effortlessly, and is the perfect size to use as an e-reader. A few moments in google apps and we decided to add a little extra $$ to the girls present so they can download fave movies and books.
I was never one for excess and always seemed to manage on the minimum, but after using the tablet, my laptop seems a little too heavy to bring with me to conferences.
It IS a useful little device (and by little I mean “fits perfectly into my purse” ). Kind of thinking we might need one or two more this year!
And since we feel our 10yr old is WAY to young for a phone, this is the perfect next step! It allows her to do all the same things a cel phone would, without that monthly users bill!
Check it out in store at Staples, or order online from Staples Canada today! Add a little usefulness under the tree this year (or snag it during Boxing Week as the “gift that Santa forgot!”)
