Something happened in the 2nd half of this year. I went from being stressed and overworked, and fighting for every dollar, to being more organized, balancing work and life, and wanting to give something back.
I have always offered some sort of coaching, no matter what industry or role I worked in. Mentorship was always a priority for me, and gave me the chance to perfect my skills, and help others advance theirs.
But when I suddenly made mentorship and coaching my BUSINESS, it was hard to find the line of helping, and doing, and not cross over into the services I offered in my business. How much support do I give without compensation, and how do I decide WHO to help?
The inner workings of my life are somewhat chaotic. It feels like there are thousands of moving pieces and sometimes it is hard to focus on which one needs my time NOW.
To combat this, I created rules and structure for myself. I am a helper, but with 30 or 40 Fb messages a day, I can’t keep up.
So, for awhile, I closed the doors. To get support, there was a process, and a payment. I would give me ALL to you during our time, and then I was able to walk away. It worked, and it helped me build a strong business foundation.
But now, things are different.
I have been working in this industry for over 5 years, and I feel that I have steady clients and I finally understand WHO my client is these days, and it is time to go back to mentoring.
I have started my first ever FREE mentorship course for influencers, (although I really need a better name) I have 35 committed influencers who will work with me for 6 weeks to up their game, and change the way they see their blog and run their business. They get daily emails, homework and videos, as well as a few other things along the way. They also had to swear on a chicken that they would work hard and do their homework!
Once a week I will invite an expert to join me on Blab, where we will open the floor to questions from the group, and one on one work within the platform. And the fun part, dear readers, is even though you aren’t in the course, you can come too.
Blab is a new live streaming app where you are able to sit in on expert conversations. You can ask questions, engage and sometimes even get in the hot seat yourself!
This weeks chat will be with Alison Burke of Impressions PR. She and I will be discussing what a brand or PR network looks for when they visit an influencers site, as well as tips on how to write an amazing about page, and work with me page!
If you want to join the conversation you can live stream (on firefox or chrome) right here OR join us on Blab!
