We have a bad history with tech devices. really bad. As in murderous some days.
PC’s usually only last me 6months to a year. They die from virus’s and mis handling. Spilled drinks, and sticky fingers.
Oh, and then there was the time my son ate my keys.
Not all of them, just the important ones. (a, s, t, l and 7) And don’t tell me I could have put them back on again… he ATE them. I wasn’t going to retrieve them.
So, in between typing with a blank keyboard, constantly replacing our laptops, working around the big ole crack on the iPad, and the multiple cracks on the iPhone…. we are challenged.
So with our upgrades, comes limits. The kids are getting the hand-me downs and are cautioned (on pain of death) not to touch mommy’s (or daddy’s) tech toys.
But we are still lacking. The eldest wants something with an amazing camera so she can take pics for her blog and easily upload them. The middle kid is “just left out”, as middle kids are, and the toddler… well, we are just trying to keep him occupied AND educated.
So, when I had the chance to connect and learn about the new Kurio Tablet at the Sweet Suite event in Chicago (more on that to come) It was the answer to our problems!
A “full-on” tablet computer, but with parental controls, and time settings to limit the kids getting sucked into the on-line vortex. A front & back camera that will have our “kid-blogger” drooling, with web access for her to do quick updates to her site, and pre-loaded favourite games for all the kids to love.
The big question… who gets it?
Leave a note below with which kid you think should get the Kurio Tablet… if we are lucky enough to win one with this post!
Amy – The young bloggess, tech savvy and keen to use the camera feature. BUT, desperately needing the time limit controls so we don’t lose her to the internet completely.
Izzy- Middle kid, neglected and usually using the “broken and discarded” tech items. Keen on reading, and just learning how to do all those cool games. Still ends up in scary places when she searches the web (there are some nasty “kitty videos” that come up) Bring on parental controls!
Silas – We just need something to help us entertain this FULL ON little man! With two working-from-home parents, and a kid that need 100% attention, all the time, we are constantly looking for ways to get him independent and entertained. Bring on the one-tap access games and fun for this little dude!
Cast your vote in the comments, and cross your fingers that I get to wander away with a Kurio Tablet... and keep watching… if we do, I will share a video of the kid that gets it!
